I worked at Pratt & Whitney on control systems for the J-58 engine. One of my assignments was at Area 51 where I worked for 6 months covering flight tests.
Another high water mark of my career was the evaluation of the Bendix main fuel controls that replaced the Hamilton Standard units.
I also ran the testing to evaluate the fuel flow "fall off" problem at high inlet temperatures. This was the reason we went to Bx fuel controls. We finally fixed the problem, but too late to save production for Ham Std.
